Day 4 At Volvo Ocean Race Newport Stopover

Good Morning, it's Friday, May 8th and here's a look at what's happening at the Volvo Ocean Race Newport Race Village today!

Schedule Of Public Events For May 8th, 2015

11 a.m. - 7 p.m.: Volvo Ocean Race Newport Stopover Race Village Open To The Public

The Race Village will be open daily, May 5-17 and is free admission to all ages. The twelve-day public celebration will feature racing off the shore of Fort Adams (May 14-17), entertainment, a marine Exploration Zone, sponsor pavilions, family games, a "Life at the Extreme" theater, team compounds, try sailing, kids activities, concerts and a working boatyard. The race boats will be docked at Fort Adams for public viewing.

11 a.m. - 3 p.m.: Try Sailing Come onboard a Sail Newport J/22 to experience sailing. All ages invited. Lifejackets provided.

12 p.m. - 6:40 p.m.: Another Day At The Office

An informative and entertaining quiz show based on the race and life on board, presented to you by a host who will guide you through a 40 minute program. The public will be divided into 7 teams and compete by both answering questions (through voting-boxes), and participating in physical challenges.

4 p.m. - 7 p.m.: Dock Party with The HonkyTonk Knights

The Dock Party music series will feature Newport band The HonkyTonk Knights on a stage on the North Lawn of Fort Adams State Park and admission is free. The HonkyTonk Knights play honky tonk, country blues, rockabilly.

There is a food court and beer garden on the north lawn at Fort Adams and their will be a Dock Party featuring The HonkyTonk Knights from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. this
