Entertainment Series Continues During Week 2 Of Volvo Ocean Race Newport Stopover

A concert, a movie and a dance performance are among this week's shoreside attractions at Fort Adams State Park during the Volvo Ocean Race Newport Stopover.

The "Dock Party" music series continues this week with The Hammond Boys with Dan Moretti, Tim Taylor Band and Comanchero. The “Dock Party” shows will be on a stage on the North Lawn of Fort Adams State Park and admission is free.

Magenta Music Night, takes place on Thursday, May 14, and features Sarah Potenza and Emma Joy Galvin (both of Rhode Island) and Anita Antoinette (of Boston). Potenza and Antoinette were finalists from NBC’s “The Voice.” Tickets are Buy One Get One, courtesy of SCA, and are available through Newport Waterfront Events and Ticketmaster.

In addition to the music is a special night inside Fort Adams on Wednesday, May 13. The Island Moving Company will stage a dance performance and it will be followed by a screening from Newport FILM of the movie The Search for Freedom. Doors open at 7:00 and admission is free.
